BREVE DESCRIZIONE DEL PROGETTO

 

INTRA project has been developed starting from the MAIB idea on innovation of typical products, in order exploit and improve the valuable experience on Apulian traditional products in close collaboration with the Apulia region, that led to the establishment of a collective community mark called products of Puglia in the conviction that a sustainable development of rural areas is possible only increasing the traditional and typical productions profitability in the global market, thus favoring the permanence of SMEs in their territories and safeguarding the agricultural culture and the productions with environmental low impact.

The objective of the proposal is to strengthen services for the transfer of technical-scientific innovations from research institutions to enterprises in order to allow the development of traditional agro-food products consistent with market demands. The achievement of this objective can take place only with the complementary action of the local authorities which should encourage it by amending the regulatory framework and by designing policies to support innovation in the agro-food sector.

More specifically the project will bring together the research organizations specialized in agro-food sector in order to identify and analyze (with the enterprises) the innovations that could be applied while acknowledging the SMEs needs (given their experiences in markets evolutions), to assess the feasibility and adaptability to the involved territories (laboratory on traditional products: qualitative analysis and market attitude) as well as to discuss regulatory and policy aspects.

The transfer of the identified innovations will take place trough innovative ICT tools that will facilitate exchanges between Italian and Greek research institutions as well as among research institutions and enterprises and the establishment of no. 2 services centre (in Italy and Greece) called Home of flavours for the valorisation and visibility of innovations of traditional agro-food products. The Home of Flavours will serve as incubator (service-centre for SMEs, connected with the ICT tools) within which a permanent exhibition on innovation of the traditional products, educational and demonstration spaces on innovations and a documentation centre (library and mediateque) for dissemination and research on traditional agro-food products and their history.
